The delicious potluck was followed by the always comical "Rob Your Neighbor" gift exchange and a vote for the funniest, ugliest, or most creative holiday attire.       Peter Eobbi was the winner of the best Holiday Costume contest and Rosalie Vaccaro was a close runner up.  Congratulations! HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM ALL OF US AT GVAL!

  Jane Bradley is a member of Gilbert Visual Art League and is currently serving on the board. She was named as a winner in the BoldBrush monthly online art contest.  From all of GVAL, Congratulations Jane! Oil Painting by Jane Bradley, "Ava" The bio below was published by Clint Watson of BoldBrush, part of FASO (Fine Art Studio Online) Since she first picked up a paint brush at fourteen years old, Jane Bradley has reveled in color. Simple line drawings of people and horses now took on shades of meaning and emotion. To this day, color animates her richly-hued canvases. Second only to color is her love of rendering the human form. "There is a whole world to be discovered in a face, in a gesture, in the subtle turn of a hand," she says. "This is my frontier, something for which I never get tired of exploring. My enthusiasm spills over into my teaching and I try to bring people along on this adventure." Jane received her MFA at the University of Utah in paint

 Congratulations to GVAL member Christina Rosepappa! Her wonderful 12x12 colored pencil drawing "Desert Sorbet" was  highlighted as the 'Latest and Greatest' in Colored Pencil Magazine this month. 

GVAL Volunteers at Higley School District Art Festival   The Higley School District Art Festival at Williams Field High School was a big success on May 1st! Thank you GVAL volunteers Sharon Hess, Peter Eobbi, Jean Smith and Richard Van Belleghem for hosting fun art activities for children and adults. The GVAL art experiences included self portraits, fun creatures, watercolor, and card making. Well done! (from Facebook post by Donna Finter).
